Muhammad Abu Salamiya, the Director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, told Al-Jazeera on Thursday that the situation in the Gaza hospitals is tragic.

“No aid entered the northern Gaza Strip,” Dr. Abu Salamiya said in an interview with Al-Jazeera. “The situation is tragic in every sense of the word.”

Dr. Abu Salamiya added that displaced people inside the hospital facilities ran out of food and water.

“We fear that Israel will bomb the hospital and destroy it on our heads,” he continued.

“We hold the entire world responsible for the patients at Al-Shifa Hospital,” Dr. Abu Salamiya also said, adding:

“The international community has not provided us with any water or a liter of fuel, and we are in a real crisis. (..)  Every day we lose a cancer patient or a child suffering from dehydration.”

“We have exhausted every drop of fuel in the Gaza Strip. Our fuel supply will run out tomorrow,” the doctor warned, adding:

“Ten minutes after the power cut, all patients on artificial respiration will die.”

Israel has, thus far, killed over 11,078 – including 4,506 children and 3,027 women – and wounded 27,409. Palestinian Ministry of Health reports and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.
