More than 200 events are being held as part of Israeli Apartheid Week in South Africa in cooperation with the ruling party ANC party, Felesteen newspaper reported yesterday.

The South African Council of Churches and a large number of Muslim community leaders are also taking part in the activities.

The events, which include documentaries, art shows, talks and conferences, are being held across the country.

A Palestinian Authority statement revealed that one conference is dedicated to the support of freedom for Palestinian prisoners, noting that a PA delegation headed by the President of the Palestinian Prisoners Club Qaddoura Faris would be in attendance.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian foreign ministry in Gaza sent “important” messages to several international groups and organisations stressing the importance of exposing Israeli crimes and violations against Palestinians and asking human rights groups and organisations, as well as the active communities, to highlight Israeli violations of international law.

It also stressed the importance of boycotting Israeli products as an effective weapon to rein in Israeli violations and Judaisation policies.
