Senior officials of the Fatah and Hamas movements are scheduled to meet Friday in Cairo, a PLO official said.

PLO Executive Committee member Wassel Abu Yousef told Ma’an that leading Fatah official Azzam al-Ahmad was to meet with Hamas’ Moussa Abu Marzou in Egypt’s capital.

Al-Ahmad was scheduled to meet with President Mahmoud Abbas in Amman before traveling to Egypt to meet with Abu Marzouq, Abu Yousef said.

The meeting was called in order to plan for an upcoming PLO delegation visit to Gaza, and to discuss the implementation of West Bank-Gaza unity, he added.

A delegation of PLO officials is set to visit Gaza within the next few days.
