Two Israeli missiles struck a market in the Nuseirat refugee camp in Central Gaza, The Palestine Chronicle correspondent reported.
UPDATE: 13 Palestinians have been declared dead as a result of the attack on the Nuseirat market, Al-Mayadeen reported. The number is expected to rise.
“Dozens of dead and wounded and extensive destruction of the whole area” have been reported.
The missiles hit the Abu al-Sahel Aq’l restaurant, which is frequented by many people due to its ability to provide fast meals to thousands of people in the devastated camp.
The Palestine Chronicle correspondent said that the result of the strike was a “horrendous massacre”. He also said that ambulances and civil defense teams were not able to enter the area due to the extensive destruction.
Nuseirat has doubled in size in the last two weeks, as nearly 100,000 people have rushed there to escape Israeli bombs targeting the northern parts of the Strip.
But Nuseirat has also been a major target for Israeli attacks, which have killed and wounded hundreds.
Tens of thousands of Nuseirat refugees are currently present at United Nations-run schools, which have turned into massive shelters for displaced and panic-stricken families.
This is a developing story.
