Palestinian Town of Huwwara Under Attack Again – Developing Story

Last February, hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed the town of Huwwara, killing one Palestinian and wounding many others. Today, October 5, dozens of settlers, under the protection of the Israeli military, are back in Huwwara.

Dozens of Israeli Jewish settlers, along with a large number of Israeli soldiers, stormed on Thursday night the town of Huwwara, located near to the occupied West Bank city of Nablus.

Thursday night, Israeli occupation forces stormed Huwwara, killing a young Palestinian man,  the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Israeli occupation forces reportedly imposed an extensive lockdown on Palestinian businesses in Huwwara and tightened their restrictions at military checkpoints around the city of Nablus.

Later in the evening, the Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that a young Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces. His identity is yet to be confirmed.

WAFA correspondent said that Israeli occupation forces opened fire at a young man after surrounding him in a building near the Zaytouna Roundabout in the town of Huwwara. 

The soldiers reportedly blocked access to ambulance crews, leaving the wounded young man bleeding to death, according to eyewitnesses, cited by WAFA.

This is the third Palestinian killed in 24 hours by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire.

On Thursday morning, Huthayfah Fares, 27, and Abd al-Rahman Atta, 23, were shot dead in the village of Shufa, southeast of Tulkarm.

The Israeli military raid on Huwwara was followed by the storming of the town by dozens of illegal Jewish settlers. According to Aljazeera Arabic, the ongoing assault on Palestinian homes and other properties by the settlers is happening under the protection of the Israeli military.
