Independent British MP and former Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said that the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation army at the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza will change the course of events in Gaza and everywhere in the world.
He made this statement in an interview with Aljazeera Arabic Channel soon after Israel killed more than 500 Palestinians and wounded many more in an attack targeting displaced Palestinian civilians who were sheltering inside a hospital in Gaza City.
Corbyn said that he received many messages from his friends in the Gaza Strip, describing what has happened.
He stressed that this massacre will be an unforgettable event, which will change the course of events in Gaza and everywhere in the world, as he put it, stressing that there is a need for everyone to know the type of brutality committed by Israel against civilians.
He deplored that at least 3,500 had died in Gaza as of the early hours of Wednesday morning, at least 500 of them were killed in a single strike.
Deconstructing a Lie: How Israel Bombed Al-Ahli Hospital, then Changed Its Story Twice
Corbyn warned that the build-up of Israeli ground forces outside Gaza does not bode well for the people of the Strip.
He pointed out that after the unconditional support provided by Western leaders to Israel, the majority of US and European citizens are concerned about the development of the situation, and do not want to be drawn into Israel’s war on the Palestinian people.
Earlier he had tweeted,
Israeli air strikes have hit Al Ahli hospital in Gaza. More than 500 people – patients, doctors & those sheltering – have been killed.
What unspeakable horror.
We will mourn their loss forever.
Our leaders could have spoken up for peace. They chose to cheer on war instead.
When will they demand an end to these atrocious war crimes?
How many Palestinian lives will it take to call for these indiscriminate killings to stop?
Please, for the sake of humanity, raise your voice for an immediate ceasefire. The existence of the Palestinian people is at stake.
