Israel’s Army has opened fire at a local residence inside the Gaza Strip, killing one woman and injuring five other people, Palestinian medics say.
The Tuesday attack on al-Bureij neighborhood saw an Army forces shooting at least four shells on the woman’s house.
The military confirmed the incident, alleging that it was a precaution against a potential breach. "Suspects were identified coming close to the (border) fence and a force nearby opened fire," an Israeli military spokeswoman said.
The recurrent forays, carried out under the pretext of surveillance and preemptive measures, take their toll on the Palestinians on a nearly daily basis.
