Nasser al-Shaer, deputy prime minister of the 10th government, said Thursday that activities were being planned to demand an end to the division of the occupied territories.
Speaking in Nablus on behalf of the national and Islamic factions, al-Shaer said that “It’s time to say enough of division — we should turn this black page from the Palestinian people’s history”.
“We are not speaking from Tahrir square but from Shuhada square in Nablus, and we tell Mahmoud Abbas, Khalid Mashaal, Ismail Haniyeh, and Salam Fayyad that we are behind you to end the division and we want to be your partners in ending the division,” he added.
Munib al-Masri, head of the independent figures coalition, told Ma’an that “Nablus was and will be the first spark from which all the national initiatives start. We are today announcing the start of field actions from Shuhada square.”
He added that these activities will be in Hebron and Gaza in the next few days move to all Palestinian cities.
The participants waved Palestinian flags and banners that said “let us shout with one voice against the division”, “I am Palestinian against division”, and “From Rafah to Jenin, the people are against division”.
