The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has condemned a series of restrictions imposed by Israel on the occupied West Bank, saying they have made life extremely difficult for Palestinian residents.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Peatrice Megevand-Rogo, ICRC Director of Operations in the Middle East and North Africa said Israeli security checkpoints and roadblocks disrupt normal life of Palestinians in the occupied territory.
For some Palestinians, getting to school, work or hospital is often difficult, said the statement.
It also denounced "the annoying violent actions" frequently committed by Israeli settlers against the Palestinian residents and demanded that Israel protect Palestinians from the assaults.
"We repeat our calls for Israel to do more to protect the Palestinians, their lands and their crops in the West Bank from the violence of the settlers," it added.
Megevand-Rogo also condemned the restrictions imposed on the Palestinians to construct new buildings or even renovate their old houses.
