The General Hebrew Radio has revealed that Israeli Prime Minister, Bemjamin Natanyahu, and his Defense Minister, Avigdor Lieberman, have refused the proposal of the Intelligence Minister, Yisrael Katz, to build a seaport and an Island off Gaza’s coast.

Netanyahu’s refusal was made during a meeting of the Israeli cabinet two days ago.

His decision was based on the claim that “Israel would not have full control of the Island and that Hamas might use it to smuggle weapons,” the radio stated.

The Washington Post had revealed earlier a plan by Katz to build an Island off Gaza’s coast, adding that it would be connected via a bridge to the Israeli port of Ashdod.
