Gaza Engineer Awarded Prestigious Award in Malaysia

Palestinian engineer, Fadi Albatsh, from the Gaza Strip won the prestigious Khazanah scholarship in Malaysia, awarded initially to Asian students, and which included Palestinian students from 2013. Albatsh was the first Palestinian student to win the scholarship.

Upon graduation from the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, the achievements of Mr. Albatsh were evaluated, with him being awarded the Best Academic Achievement award given by the scholarship administration.

Albatsh received the award during the 10th annual festival organized by the scholarship administration in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.

The PhD research of Albatsh covered the area of electrical resistance, where he managed to produce a device that reduces 18% of electrical resistance. He aspires to use his research in the Gaza Strip to solve the electricity outages problem.

He noted that applying his research in Gaza is not easy because the area suffers from daily electricity outages. Albatsh has published 18 research papers and participated in various academic conferences.

He won the best research award in the Smart Network Conference in Saudi Arabia.He also won an award to present his research results in three minutes at the University of Malaya.
