Recognizing Israel without getting it to recognize the State of Palestine “was a mistake”, an advisor to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has said.
PalSawa.ps yesterday reported Husam Zomlot saying: “We committed a mistake when we recognized Israel without getting its recognition for us.”
“We will not go for any mutual negotiations or international meetings without getting recognition of our legitimate rights to the 1967 lands and a settlement freeze.”

Zomlot said the political crises were a result of the “failure of the peace process” which was deliberately sabotaged by the Israeli occupation, in addition to the internal Palestinian divisions.
Meanwhile, he called for exposing Israeli crimes and supporting the peaceful resistance represented by the Boycott, Divestment and Boycott movement in order to show that the occupation is largely blamed for the failure of the political process.
