Frying Eggs and Grilling Merkavas – Hamas Responds to Israeli Leaflets

Israel is suffering on two war fronts, the battles on the ground and the information war.

The Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas mocked a leaflet thrown by the Israeli air force at residential areas in Gaza on Thursday.

The thousands of Israeli flyers offered financial rewards in exchange for information on the leaders of the Palestinian Resistance.

The leaflet, which called on Gaza residents to provide information that could be useful to “arrest those who brought destruction to the Strip,” featured a picture of Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’ leader in Gaza, offering the amount of $ 400,000 for information that could lead to his arrest.

It also featured photos of Sinwar’s younger brother Muhammad, who is believed to supervise movement operations in the besieged Palestinian enclave; Rafa Salama, the commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade; and Mohammed Deif, the head of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

“Hamas has lost its strength”, the leaflet read, adding that its leaders were “unable to fry an egg”.

Izzat al-Risheq, top Hamas official and a member of the movement’s political bureau, promptly responded to the Israeli allegation that Hamas is losing control over Gaza.

“There is no time to fry eggs. Our Resistance members are busy grilling the Merkava,” al-Risheq retorted, according to Hamas’ Telegram channel.

Losing Control?

Claims that the Resistance is losing control over the Strip began weeks ago, when the Israeli military had claimed to have taken control over northern Gaza, which turned out not to be the case.

Much of the ongoing Resistance in the Strip is still focused in areas that Israel has claimed to have conquered weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army has continued to suffer heavy losses throughout the Gaza Strip. According to the latest official figures issued by the military on Thursday, at least 445 Israeli soldiers, including 119 officers, have been killed since October 7.

The Palestinian Resistance thinks the number is much higher. Moreover, Israeli hospital records published in Haaretz and other Israeli newspapers say that thousands of Israeli soldiers have been injured since the start of the war. Many of those injured are reportedly in critical condition.

Moreover, the Palestinian Resistance groups announced the destruction of over 500 Israeli military vehicles since the beginning of the Israeli ground invasion on October 27.

In his latest recorded statement, Abu Obeida, the military spokesman of the Al-Qassam Brigades, said that the Resistance has destroyed over 100 Israeli military vehicles in the last five days alone.

However, Israel is also suffering at a different warfront, that of public relations.

Despite the unconditional support and bias by mainstream media and Western powers, Israeli propaganda is experiencing a setback, due to the work of alternative media and the growing impact of pro-Palestine social media individuals, groups and influencers.
