The Israeli Minister of Energy Yuval Steinitz will head to Istanbul this Thursday to meet his Turkish counterpart Berat Albayrak to discuss the gas deal to be signed between the two countries.
The meeting is the first of its kind since the collapse of diplomatic relations following Israel’s attack on Mavi Marmara, the Turkish flotilla that was attempting to break the siege of Gaza in 2010.

Turkey and Israel have restored their diplomatic ties after Israel agreed to apologize for killing nine Turkish activists onboard of the Freedom Flotilla, pay compensation to their families and give Turkey access to implement some projects in the Gaza Strip.
However, the Turkish condition of ending the siege on Gaza was never met.
