Palestinian MP Jamal Al-Khoudary, Head of the Popular Committee to End Gaza’s Siege, has condemned Israel’s interception of Zaytouna, a women-led boat that had 13 activists on board while attempting to break the decade-long siege imposed on the Gaza Strip by Israel.
Al-Khoudary said in a press statement that the goals and message of the women boats to Gaza have been achieved although they could not reach Gaza.
Al-Khoudary added that what Israel did to the boat was “piracy in the international waters. The boat sailed from various sea-ports and faced no problem except when it attempted to reach Gaza.”

He noted, “As long as the siege on Gaza is imposed, efforts to break it will continue. The siege has affected all Palestinians from all walks of life in Gaza.” Al-Khoudary stressed that the continuation of the siege will increase solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
He called for ending the blockade of Gaza because “it is illegal and immoral.”
“The countries of these female activists should provide protection for them after they were detained by the Israeli army, after these countries failed to end the Gaza siege,” he concluded.
