Israeli air forces carried out an airstrike overnight, targeting an old tunnel dug by the Palestinian resistance to the east of Gaza, 150 meters into Israel, the Israeli army said.

Three missiles targeted the tunnel, one of which did not explode, Palestinian local sources said.

The Israeli army has informed Israeli setters residing in the border areas of Gaza that it will carry out “limited airstrikes” as part of a military drill, during which explosions will be heard.

The Israeli army has announced the discovery of a new tunnel dug from Gaza near the town of Ashkol, to the north of Gaza.

Israeli drones have been heard hovering around Gaza for the last two days, recalling images of the Israeli offensive in the summer of 2014, which claimed the lives of more than 2,200 Palestinians.

The Israeli army said 19-year-old Israeli Arab, Jumaa Ibrahim Abu Ghanima, from Negev who infiltrated the Gaza Strip on Tuesday has still not been located. The Israeli claim was not confirmed by a Palestinian source in Gaza.
