MP Jamal Khoudary, the head of the Popular Committee against the Siege, stressed that the ongoing Israeli siege on Hebron in the West Bank, which started two weeks ago, is an extension of the blockade of Gaza.
He stressed in a press statement issued on Tuesday, the need to lift the blockade which intensifies and increases the suffering of 800,000 Palestinian citizens in Hebron.
He pointed out the need to stop the closure of 250 roads, which link towns and villages, in addition to the violence perpetuated by Israeli setters against Palestinians in Hebron.

Khoudary believes that the siege of Hebron is a form of ‘collective punishment’ and a policy by the Israeli occupation to deal with the Palestinian people, in violation of international laws and norms.
He stressed that this blockade, the Israeli targeting of Palestinian territories, the continuing the siege and closure of Gaza, and the siege of the West Bank, which includes building more settlements, walls and checkpoints, are all linked. Attempts to Judaize Jerusalem, expel Palestinians from Jerusalem from their homes and prevent them from praying at the Al Aqsa Mosque are all systemic policies by the Israeli occupation.
Khoudary highlighted the need for international intervention to stop this dangerous policy which escalates the siege of the Gaza Strip and the extension of this collective punishment to the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.
