A number of Palestinians were injured in clashes that broke out across the occupied Palestinian territory on Saturday, Palestinian sources told Ma’an.
A spokesperson for Gaza’s Ministry of Health said that Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian in his 20s with a live round east of Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
He said the Palestinian had been hit in his leg and was in moderate condition.
Dozens of Palestinian youths reportedly marched on Gaza’s eastern borders, throwing stones at Israeli soldiers who responded with live fire and tear gas canisters.
Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian sources said that dozens of Palestinians suffered excessive tear gas inhalation in clashes that broke out in the Nablus villages of Iraq Burin and Beit Furik.
An official who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, Ghassan Daghlas, told Ma’an that Israeli forces raided Iraq Burin in southern Nablus and fired dozens of tear gas canisters, causing at least 15 to suffer excessive tear gas inhalation.
Daghlas said that Israeli forces also raided the al-Jabal area of Beit Furik in eastern Nablus, close to the illegal settlement of Itamar, causing clashes to erupt with locals.
He said that Israeli forces fired dozens of tear gas canisters at Palestinians and their homes causing more than 20 people to suffer from tear gas inhalation.
Fierce clashes were also reported in the southern West Bank city of Hebron — where Israeli worshipers continued to arrive as part of a religious pilgrimage — as well as other locations across the occupied West Bank.
Rainy weather appears to have reduced the wave of protests that swept the occupied Palestinian territory at the beginning of last month, although Palestinians have continued to hold demonstrations, and clashes have been widely reported.
In October, Israeli forces shot and wounded at least 2,617 Palestinians with live and rubber-coated steel bullets, the Palestinian Red Cross has said. A further 5,399 Palestinians were reportedly treated for excessive tear gas inhalation.
