Israeli police reported extensive property damage following rocket strikes in Kiryat Shmona and the Lower Galilee, while Yedioth Ahronoth reported that a building in Kiryat Shmona, near the border, was directly hit. 

The Lebanese movement Hezbollah announced on Friday that it had killed and wounded Israeli soldiers in two separate operations near the border and launched dozens of rockets at northern Haifa and the Galilee, causing significant damage and fires.

In a statement, Hezbollah claimed that its fighters had targeted an Israeli Merkava tank near the Al-Malikiyah site with a guided missile, resulting in casualties among Israeli forces.

In a second statement, Hezbollah reported that it had attacked a convoy of Israeli military vehicles and personnel in the Maroun al-Ras plain, causing further casualties.

The group also claimed responsibility for launching a heavy Burkan missile at a gathering of Israeli vehicles and soldiers in Sa’sa’, while also striking the Ilania base in the Lower Galilee, artillery positions south of Kiryat Shmona, and the Ruwaysat al-Alam site in the occupied Kfar Shuba hills in Lebanon.

Al-Jazeera captured footage of an Israeli helicopter transporting injured soldiers from the northern front to Rambam Hospital in Haifa.

Meanwhile, Israeli police reported extensive property damage following rocket strikes in Kiryat Shmona and the Lower Galilee, with Yedioth Ahronoth noting that a building in Kiryat Shmona, near the border, was directly hit. 

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz cited the mayor of the settlement of Metula, who stated that 50 rockets had struck the area, causing significant damage.

Fires broke out in various locations in the Galilee following the rocket attacks, according to Israeli police. 

Israeli Army Radio reported that around 100 rockets had been fired from Lebanon since the morning, with 40 launched in the past hour alone, targeting the Misgav area in the Western Galilee.

Sirens sounded in Caesarea, north of Tel Aviv, where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu resides, forcing him to take shelter, as reported by Israeli media.

Later in the day, Hezbollah stated it had fired rocket salvos at the city of Safed and the settlement of Karmiel. Earlier, the group had said that it targeted the Krayot area north of Haifa with additional rocket salvos.

Video footage captured missiles hitting the outskirts of Haifa after penetrating Israeli air defenses, with reports indicating that missiles landed in the industrial zone north of the city, more than 40 kilometers from the Lebanese border.

Sirens were heard across Haifa, Nahariya, Caesarea, and settlements throughout the Galilee, warning of incoming rocket fire.

On Thursday, Hezbollah launched approximately 200 rockets at Israeli targets, according to Israeli media. 

The group also said it killed 17 Israeli officers and soldiers during those operations. Israeli media later reported a “serious security incident” involving the evacuation of dead or wounded soldiers from the Lebanese border.
