Unidentified gunmen reportedly shoot and kill four Israelis travelling in their vehicle in the south of the occupied Palestinian territory of the West Bank.
The incident took place near the Kiryat Arba Jewish settlement close to the city of al-Khalil (Hebron) on Tuesday, AFP reported.
The dead, identified as two males and two females, are believed to be Jewish settlers.
No side has yet claimed responsibility for the killings.
Palestinian Authority’s (PA) Caretaker Prime Minister Salam Feyadh has condemned the attack.
Settler aggression was reported in the proximity of the city earlier in the month after the Israeli authorities’ evacuated an illegal Israeli outpost near Kiryat Arba. The bout of violence reportedly saw masked Israeli settlers violently attacking and injuring a Canadian and a Danish peace activist before fleeing with some of their possessions and documents.
Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the Israeli forces to launch a hunt "without diplomatic restraint" within the occupied lands for the attackers.
Sami Abu-Zuhri spokesman for the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas said the attack was proof "of a failure of security coordination" between Israeli occupiers and the PA, Reuters reported.
