Israeli settlers have attacked Palestinian fields in a village north of the West Bank, injuring at least 10 Palestinian residents.

Clashes erupted after a large group of settlers began uprooting olive trees in Palestinian fields in Qusra, some 10 kilometers (six miles) southeast of Nablus, Israeli daily Ynet reported.

Israeli soldiers arrived at the scene and fired tear gas and rubber bullets to break up the confrontation, witnesses said.

Ghassan Daghlas, an official in charge of tracking settler activity, said the ten were taken to hospital.

Israeli media reports said at least one settler was injured in the incident, which was still ongoing.

Last week, Jewish settlers cut down around 500 young olive trees near Qusra.
