Tensions continue to escalate in the West Bank as Israeli forces shoot and kill a 16-year-old child and detain dozens of Palestinians while also engaging in armed clashes with Resistance forces during various invasions.

A Palestinian youth has been killed by Israeli forces in the Qalandiya refugee camp, while fierce armed clashes have broken out between invading Israeli occupation forces and resistance fighters in the Nour Shams camp in the town of Tulkarem, both in the West Bank.

In addition, Israeli forces detained 55 Palestinians in several areas in the West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society reported.

According to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA, 16-year-old Mustafa Abu Shalbak was killed after being targeted by Israeli gunfire during the invasion of the Al-Amari camp, in Ramallah.

Footage was also shared of a wounded Israeli soldier limping away during the invasion.

The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades confirmed in a statement on Monday, conveyed through the Resistance News Network Telegram channel, that it was “confronting the invading occupation forces in the Nur Shams camp.”

Israeli ambulances were later reported in the camp to withdraw the damaged bulldozer, “amid fierce and ongoing armed clashes with the resistance.”

According to WAFA, “the occupation bulldozers razed and caused damages to the infrastructure in the camp’s streets, and part of a new street on its outskirts.”

Confrontations broke out between youths and occupation soldiers amid heavy gunfire, while successive explosions were heard in the camp, WAFA reported.

Armed clashes also erupted on Monday between invading Israeli forces and the resistance in Tubas, in the north-eastern West Bank.

The Brigades confirmed that their fighters “continue to engage in fierce clashes” with the army who have stormed the town with their military vehicles.

Nablus Clashes

In Nablus, armed clashes have broken out in the vicinity of Muath Al-Masri’s home as more than 200 soldiers invaded to demolish the house.

Al-Masri was killed by Israeli forces in May 2023, following an operation with Hassan Qatnani that killed three settlers in the Jordan Valley.

In Hebron (Al Khalil), Israeli forces have arrested former detainee Hisham Abu Hawwash from his home in Dura.

Abu Hawwash, aged 42, was released from prison in January 2022 after conducting a 141-day long hunger strike, in protest at his arrest without charge or trial in October 2020.

Resistance fighters have also opened fire on Israeli forces invading the town of Qalqilya and in “the vicinity of Yousef’s Tomb in eastern Nablus.”

Soldiers also assaulted a Palestinian citizen, beating him and spraying him with pepper gas as they stormed the town, reports WAFA.

WAFA reported that Israeli soldiers stormed the eastern area of the city and tried to enter Joseph’s Tomb, then stormed Qadri Tuqan School in the area and destroyed one of its gates.

The sources added that the soldiers fled towards the road linking the town of Al-Badhan and Nablus, and severely beat a citizen and sprayed him with pepper gas.

Scores Detained

Also on Monday, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said Israeli forces detained 55 Palestinians in a wide-scale detention operation in several areas in the occupied West Bank.

The PPS said in a statement that the occupation army detained 22 Palestinians in Hebron. Some of them are former prisoners who went on hunger strikes for over 140 days.

The PPS said that the total number of detentions since October 7 rose to about 7,400.
