The number of Palestinians injured by Israeli occupation forces in the West Bank and Gaza Strip in 2016 to date has now surpassed 3,000.

According to United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in its regular briefing for the two-week period 20 September-3 October, a total of 3,047 Palestinians have been injured since the start of the year, in addition to 96 fatalities.

The majority of both deaths (87) and injuries (2,865) have occurred in the West Bank.

This means that, on average, Israeli forces have injured 77 Palestinians per week, every week, since the beginning of 2016.

This is in addition to those Palestinians injured by Israeli settlers – according to UN OCHA, there have been 25 such incidents in 2016 so far.
