Calling on All Palestine Chronicle Readers: True, this year we are a bit too ambitious. But please allow us to state our case .. We just stepped into our 14th year as one of the most reliable, morally-consistent, far-reaching online publications on Palestine and the Middle East. Our efforts would have meant little if it were not for your support: Thank you for believing in us and for accompanying us throughout this rough journey. At times, it felt lonely navigating our path among an onslaught on independent journalism. We subsisted, with your support and solidarity through wars, revolutions and many trying junctures in the history of Palestine, the Middle East and the world. Self-serving 'compromises' or 'selling out' with the hope of 'weathering the storm' was NEVER and WILL NEVER BE on the agenda of the Palestine Chronicle. This is our promise to you. And here we return to you, 13 years later, making our case that we need- and dare we say- deserve your support. The Palestine Chronicle will soon be re-launching in its most advanced, and user-friendly format yet. It is not just a facelift, but a substantial improvement as changes and additions to the content will be made to accommodate all the very helpful requests and feedback we have received in recent years and months. The Palestine Chronicle will continue to be a gathering place for the progressive world’s best writers, intellectuals, journalists and academicians writing on Palestine and related subjects. For us, PALESTINE IS STILL THE ISSUE. Not only do we recall injustices and report on the ongoing Israeli military aggressions against the Palestinian people, but we boldly push the envelope on many issues, in terms of ideas, politics and geography. More, while editorially, we champion a clear political line, we don’t deny those with whom we disagree from getting an equitable platform for their ideas. A post-Oslo political wisdom has localized and confined the discourse on Palestine into that of futile discussions regarding the ‘peace process’, offering ‘solutions’ or cementing an already terrible factional divide. We have dodged all of that, remaining committed to the very humanistic principles that have fueled Palestinian resistance for decades. As for the geography, we believe that a true understanding of the conflict in Palestine is unattainable without a thorough understanding of the Middle East region at large. This is why we have offered numerous articles and takes on Arab revolutions and subsequent conflicts. The Palestine Chronicle has grown to become a pillar of intellectual clarity and journalistic integrity on Palestine - consistent, reliable and independent. Please Support the Palestine Chronicle, so that our mission may continue. The Palestine Chronicle needs your support and solidarity today more than ever before.
